Leo Sayer, Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth
BRIT music legend Leo Sayer will deliver a high energy evening of chart hits at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre.
Visiting the venue as part of a UK tour, Leo will perform music from an iconic career spanning more than five decades. Known the world over for his chart-topping music, singer-songwriter Leo has a back catalogue which includes Thunder In My Heart, Moonlighting, One Man Band, I Can’t Stop Loving You, More Than I Can Say, Have You Ever Been in Love, The Show Must Go On and the transatlantic number ones, When I Need You and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.
Leo and his band bring boundless energy, exuberance and a hit-packed show to some of his favourite venues across the country.
Born in May 1948 in Shoreham-on-Sea, near Brighton, Leo’s career peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s. He first found fame in 1973 when his single The Show Must Go On reached number two in the UK single charts, with Leo performing dressed as a clown.
His singing career then went from strength to strength and by the late 1970s he was well-known internationally achieving hit singles and albums in the USA, Ireland, Sweden and Australia. More hits followed in the early 1980s, including Orchard Road and More Than I Can Say. He returned to the top of the UK singles chart in 2006 with a remix hit of his 1977 single, Thunder in My Heart.
Leo appeared in The Muppet Show in 1978 where he sang The Show Must Go On, You Make Me Feel Like Dancing and his best-selling single, When I Need You. He also was a participant in the UK's Celebrity Big Brother. In 2009 he became an Australian citizen. Leo will release his upcoming autobiography, Just A Boy, later this year.
