03:00, 28 October 2024

ACCLAIMED actor David Mynne is bringing his one man performance Dracula: The Vampyr to Pennington.

Following a sell-out tour with A Christmas Carol last December, Mynne is back on the road with his adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic tale. He will appear at St Mark’s Community Hall in Pennington on Sunday 3rd November as part of Acting Up New Forest, a programme of performances in rural communities run by Culture in Common.

“I am the last of my kind. Let them pursue me to the ends of the earth. I shall be waiting...”

A Culture in Common spokesperson said: “Beware! He is unearthed. And he is coming. Keep your windows locked and hang up the garlic! The man who brought you A Christmas Carol has got his teeth into Bram Stoker’s classic tale. Devised and written in their inimitable, irreverent style, expect a better and bloodier one-man performance.”

They added: “There are bats and more bats, garlic and gore galore, vicious vampirellas and a psychiatrist who smokes a pipe. Be warned – this monstrous, disturbing and utterly batty tale of dark deeds and the undead, will thrill and beguile you.”

Billed as deliciously dark, horribly hair-raising, and suitably silly, Mynne will present Dracula: The Vampyr at St Mark’s Community Hall in Pennington on Sunday 3rd November at 7pm.

The show is recommended for ages 9 and above. Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for under 18s.
